Mohamed Salih Mahfouz

PSC Director

 

Assistant Professor of Applied Statistics and Demography, has a B.Sc. ( Honors) in Applied Statistics and Demography, University of Gezira in 1994. Awarded a M.Sc. in Population and Development. University, of Gezira  in 1996. He joined the Department of Applied Statistics and  Demography  as a teaching assistant in 1994, and promoted to lecturer in 1991 and then to assistant professor in 2002.

He is an author of one text book and has a number of published paper in international journal and conferences. Before he come to the PSC as a director, he was a head Department of Applied Statistics and Demography.

Professor

Ahmed Hamad Alnoury

Professor of the Statistics and Demography, he has a B. Sc. (Honors) in Econometrics and Social Statistics from the University of Khartoum in 1976. Awarded an M. Sc. in Statistics and Demography from London School of Economics (LSE), University of London in 1979 and a Ph. D. in Medical Demography from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) in 1982.

Since 1982, he has worked in the academic field only at different universities including University of Khartoum as teaching assistant and lecturer in the Econometrics and Social Statistics Department, Faculty of Economic and Social Science, University of Southampton, University of Kuwait and in University of Gezira since 1991 till now. Professor Alnoury is an author of five textbooks and has a number of papers in national and international journals.

Professor Abdethalim Elbeshir El-farouk

Associate professor of Demography and Development, has a B. Sc. (Honors) in Economics and Rural Development, University of Gezira in 1984. Awarded a Ph. D. in Social Sciences (Demography and Population Studies), University of Durham, U. K. in 1991. He joint the University of Gezira, PSC as teaching assistant and promoted to assistant professor in 1991 and then to associate professor in 1996.

He is an author of two text book and has a number of published paper in international journals and conferences. Currently he is in Um Elgura university, Saudi Arabia.
